Powercomm champions Biodiversity in Schools
Championing Biodiversity
Powercomm Group has been active in supporting local communities and schools.
Most recently, Powercomm have sponsored five schools under the Biodiversity in Schools programme. Each school received the following items:
- Summer Bosca Dúlra teaching kit (enrolment in Pollinator Project).
- Winter Bosca Dúlra teaching kit (enrolment in Big School Bird Count).
- Autumn tree/ hedgerow planting kit (enrolment in Coill na nÓg).
- Outdoor Wildlife Signs kit & supporting resources.
- Access to our online resources & training events.
- Assistance to achieve the Nature Hero Award.
- Dedicated Collaborations Manager to coordinate sponsorships.
James Cafferty, Aoife Breslin and Kevin Dempsey recently visited Scoil Mhuire Clane to help plant the trees they received from the programme. They were greeted by Scoil Mhuire’s very enthusiastic Green Team, who readily showed them their plans for the garden and all the amazing work they have been carrying out recently. It was a great way to see the programme in action and to learn more about the students.
The team were so happy to play a small part in increasing Scoil Mhuire's biodiversity efforts and was so impressed with the fantastic students and teachers at the school.
